About

'Rebecca'

Rebecca Yoxall is a British artist working mainly with watercolour and inks, creating artwork that has many layers of application and subtraction, through which she aims to convey the impermanence of nature and beauty of flowers.
She has her own range of cushions, bags and stationary, selling though local independent outlets as well as online. She hopes her love of surface pattern design, strong colour combinations and painterly style translates into her products, making them unique and desirable.
Rebecca graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2002 with a BA(Hons) in Textile Design, since 2006 has taught Art classes at Higher Education establishments and continues to work to commission on a huge variety of projects across the UK, including illustrations for 5 Children's stories, for private customers.
It's my passion to paint, I spend most of my time covered in splatters, including during my day job as art tutor to my fantastic community of students, surrounded by flowers and Cheshire countryside and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am found in my studio creating artwork for private customers, illustrating children’s books and creating new pieces for my prints, bags and cushions ranges. I mainly work with watercolour, inks and an unusual ingredient, bleach! I love creating artwork that has many layers of application and subtraction, and I enjoy the translucency and immediacy of watercolours and inks, allowing for decisive brush strokes that capture the fleeting beauty of flowers.

My passion for florals really began during my Textile Design degree at Manchester Metropolitan where I translated painterly designs onto fabrics using screen printing methods and developed concepts of applying and then subtracting colours.

I feel honoured that so many people enjoy and purchase my art and that I am able to make a living following my dreams.

I am so pleased now to be able to offer my designs on cushions and bags so that you may take a piece of me and my flowery world into your homes.

I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to look through my artwork.

Shine Brightly
